Even though I did receive a full refund after it was returned, I would not recommend it to anyone else. I was able to find a solid wood and better made shelf from another vendor.

Triple Media Tower - Oak/Black Review

(More customer reviews)I carefully researched my purchase for media storage and came up with this unit. The product is what I expected, and seemingly a good value. I like the oak finish and the fact that it leans back slightly and does come with a tether to the wall (zip tie and a hook). Also has metal pins to easily position the shelves, with the shelves having channels built in the bottom to accept the pins. Because it is triple-wide, it easily housed my DVD collection with room to spare.
My problem with this product is that the directions are fatally flawed. The assembly directions were not "step by step" but pictorial only. In following the pictures, I was more concerned with matching the parts to the picture. The sides of the walls are particle board and in order to save money, they only laminated one of the two sides. I matched the walls to the picture provided in the directions and I was able to attach the top and bottom.
The next step of the assembly was to attach the backing. The directions called for standing the unit up to nail the backing on. After struggling with this for some time, I was able to drive at least a dozen nails in, but the backing wasn't straight. Fortunately, after I laid the unit down again, it was much easier to drive the rest of the nails (about two dozen more).
Much to my horror, when I stood the unit upright to admire my work, I noticed facing me the sides of three of the four walls showing the particle board and not the oak laminate. I still need to go to a home improvement store to see if I can purchase laminate strips to cover the exposed particle board.
There are two errors in the poorly written assembly intructions: 1) Make sure the laminate side of the walls are facing forward when you attach the top and bottom and 2) leave the unit lying flat on the ground when you attach the backing. If I had done this, assembly would have been much easier and I would have been much happier with the finished product. As I had already driven a dozen nails flush, I would have ruined the backing had I tried to remove it. If these directions were corrected, I would have given the product four to five stars. Hope I am able to spare someone else some aggravation.

Due to certain parts provided, the directions are not very clear as to what actually needs to be done. You can't even tell by the picture what they are talking about. Once you do get it assembled, it is very nice looking. It doesn't look cheap, but it is not the sturdiest piece due to way it is constructed.

(More customer reviews)I just got these and installed them a couple of nights ago (I ordered two). I am really pleased with them. The C.D.'s are accessible and easy to see and sort in the individual "squares". I was finally able to put Mozart with Mozart and Bach with Bach and Alison Kraus with Alison Krause and Leo Kotke with Leo Kotke, etc. and etc. and etc. I think it is a great design! The black wire is there, but, doesn't take over like a wood shelf does. Also, it is fairly lightweight which made installation easy! We have hundreds of C.D.'s and storing them and organizing them has been a nightmare! I was interested in these because the product description said they each held 108 C.D.'s. I had my doubts, but, I'm here to tell you, they do! It is great to get some of our C.D.'s off the floor where we have to squat and use a flashlight to find one (on regular C.D. shelves). One thing to be aware of is that they do stick out from the wall (of course) and so I was unable to put them where I'd intended...on the hall wall. I was afraid they'd get in the way and get knocked around. I hung them over the bookcases that house DVD's, etc. and since they don't stick out any further than the shelves, they are safe! The diamond shape also gives you the opportunity to create a nice design on the wall. You can put them up against each other or separate them...they look great either way! If you are a media hog like we are and your C.D.'s are all over the place, these are a terrific solution!

(More customer reviews)i got the black Atlantic 3020 in the mail yesterday and had it put together in about 10 or 15 minutes. i can fit about 220 dvds on the thing, a huge improvement over having the wobbly stacks taking up a corner of floor in my room.
It looks attractive, with a smooth flat balck finish, and seems very sturdy (especially with the provided wall strap for anchoring). If you use this rack strictly for DVDs, and sit them in horizontal rows, you will only be able to fit 6 tiers (leaving two extra) on the rack.
I already have more DVDs than this unit can occupy so i have this idea. The unit seems more than sturdy enough to hold more tiers, and because of my limited floor space, building this thing up vertically would be necessary. I purchasing another Atlantic 3020, and incorporating the parts into the existing stand to make it about 6 or 7 feet high and hold about 10 or 11 tiers. I'm very confident after seeing the construction and utilizing the wall strap that i can pull this off.
All in all i think this is a great unit and would recommend it to anyone who needs a space-effictent media rack.
At the time of my purchase, the black model was 30 dollars more than the chrome model. I don't quite understand that, but the thing is well worth it either color you choose.

Here's the catch.
Standing on the ground, the unit is extremely wobbly. Plus, the two parts (the unit is split into two parts that fit together) come apart very easily.
Here's the fix.
Mount it on the wall using the screws provided. It takes 2 minutes and alleviates all of those problems. If you're not going to mount it on the wall, think about getting a different unit.

(More customer reviews)The rack is not actually a five-foot rack. It comes as two separate 2.5' racks. Two C-shaped hooks (not permanently attached to either racks) are used to hook the bottom rack to the top rack. It is like a precarious swing set that falls apart at the slightest tremor.
Also, the top rack is connected to the over-the-door hooks by draping the top rack (with its pencil-thin wire) over two wide hooks. The hooks are not snug nor attached in any way, so the entire contraption slides around on the door.
I tried to use this equipment in my pantry door to hold spices, bottles, pasta, etc. Unfortunately, it was a game every time I opened the door. I never knew what configuration the racks would take when the door opened. The only guarantee was that -- no matter what misshapened form the racks took -- there was bound to be something I had to immediately catch from falling.
If you don't intend to use this rack as an over-the-door rack, I think it would be useful as a set of shelves nailed into the wall. Otherwise, I do not recommend this over-the-door rack because it's highly unstable.

Walker Edison 41-inch DVD Tower Review

(More customer reviews)Normally when Amazon asks me to review a product I recently bought, I decline. Honestly, who wants to read a review about that $12 wall calendar I just bought? Or my review # 1827 of some blockbuster DVD? But this is one item I wanted to review.
There ARE cheaper DVD towers out there. And there's a reason they're cheaper. You get what you pay for, and that is definitely true here.
This is a GREAT DVD cabinet. In my opinion, you'd be hard pressed to find anything of higher quality, short of buying a super-expensive model made of genuine hard wood. Yes, this is particle board, but this isn't your typical particle board furniture. The pieces are nice and sturdy (no flimsy 1/4" crap shelves here!), and it all fits together extremely well. I even accidentally knocked it over right as I was about to put the doors on. It's 3.5 feet tall but only 8 inches wide; for it to tip over, that's a long way down to fall! Didn't hurt it one bit (though I don't recommend you testing it similarly).
And speaking of tipping it over, it also includes an attachable wall strap to prevent it from tipping over once fully loaded!
The frosted glass doors combined with the black wood-grain finish is very stylish, and they EVEN include black wood-grain stickers to hide the assembly hardware on the inside. Talk about attention to detail!
I always worry about DIY furniture being damaged in the box during shipment (whether to me or to the local retail store), however this was extremely well packed in the box so it'd take a major shipping accident to cause any harm even to the glass inside. You know they care about quality when they include pieces of particle board AS packing material.
All in all, I am VERY happy with this DVD case. If you're looking for something that is elegant, small (approx 100 DVDs), and most importantly NOT a flimsy, wobbly piece of junk, this is definitely the one to get.
Especially if you get it at the Amazon price of $107 plus free shipping!

Atlantic Element Media Rack 230 CD/150 DVD/BluRay/Games Review

(More customer reviews)I have bought several DVD racks that looked identical to this one in the past so when I saw it listed in Amizon.com I had no qualms about buying it. (sigh) I should have known better. This item was very easy to assemble, and is perfectly adequite for CDs or Blu-Ray DVDs , but regular DVD cases only barely fit with about 1/8th to 1/16th of an inch left over. If those regular cases happen to be in a boxed set(i.e. TV seasons or special collection) they don't fit. The boxed sets are (maybe) 1/8th of an inch taller than a regular DVD case. After comparing this item side by side with my older CD/DVD racks I found this item to be sturdier and more stable than my older racks. The reason it is more stable, (comparatively, I've owned my other racks for ten years and never had a problem) is because it is about 10 inches shorter overall, with 2 less inches of clearance per shelf.
Bottom line, this item is great if you're using it to store CDs or Blu-Ray DVDs, if you had intended it to store something larger (as I had) you will need to get something else.
