+ Liked that it charges by USB from the computer BUT
- The microphone is weak, compared to higher end recorders I've owned (like DM420). No meeting setting on this one--someone speaking 10 feet away is all but inaudible. 3 feet away is intelligible. Speaking right into the mic is advised. Will be lousy for reporting on meetings, part of the reason I got it.
Navigation is a learning process because it only has 4 buttons. You don't tap the direction you want to go--you press arrow buttons back and forward for what is up and down on the menu. Menu selects items (long hold takes you to the root menu).
Another thing about the voice navigation that seemed counter-intuitive. You can't play back from the record menu. If you try to press play/pause from the recorder menu, it records a new file. You have to go to the voice menu and select the file and play it from there. Be sure to write down the file number (3 digits) and the folder (3 more digits) underneath it. Had it pick separate folders for files otherwise numbered the same, could create confusion. It does list the recording length.
Got it for $40 from a local "discount" store. For the price, will get an Olympus next time.
