In just a small subsection of glossy print it captures the first and second game as well as the movie, showcasing the fog and the dense layers of nothingness that lock one into a place bitterer than the coldest of dreams. To the gamer it casts a glance back at the times of yore, when you had to look over your back repeatedly because of the bumps that carved their ways through the night. For the movie lover, it says "Howdy" and "Don't you wish you could leave?" in the slightest singularity.
I love this poster and thought it spoke volumes on the beasts within.
The reason I chose to review this item on this page is because I've been buying posters and it is REALLY EASY to get a bad copy of a good thing (this is a GOOD one so I used it for illustration). A lot of people say, "What's the deal - it is still a poster," but that attitude is one that lends itself to getting subpar paper, lower-than-average printing and even company names carved into your perfect product.
Really, do you want a company's name in the middle of your poster?
First and foremost, trust your gut. If your instincts say, "do not buy this thing" then drop it then and there.
Next, look at what is being asked for the poster and see if this seems correct. A lot of people fall for bargain bin set-ups by companies that are not in the race to give you something good. They can simply mass produce, and this production gives them the ability to build better blech. This does not mean that companies do not give deals and that regular people do not sell - both happen with regularity so look at what the company has done in the past.
Afterward, check the size of the print and see what was released. This is a great example here of what one should get, with the 27x40 size giving you your first hint that it may be a movie poster or a great copy. Movie posters hung in the windows of a cinema are a specific size, just like press release and other items also have specifics. If you are looking at press releases the information is generally found with ease and store displays also meet specific criteria. Another thing to look at is the way the thing is designed. If it is double sided then this almost guarantees you that the product is the real-deal BUT the way it is printed matters as well. Just for the sake of knowing what I mean by double-sided movie posters, do a search online and look at the real thing in all its glory. Even if it is not double sided, however, it does not mean that it isn't first-rate. A poster like this one seems to be suggests that it is first rate and then some. The colors and textures: the smoother the item, the better the construct.
The next hint that it has real roots is the coloration of the item. If the color is off/odd and does not match up with what you recall, look it up and see if this is what the picture is supposed to look like. Too often, replicas are cheap and checkered beasts and are easily spotted by careful consumers.
When I want to go to Silent Hill, I want it to be perfect. A dream is a dream is a dream - until someone ruins it by trying to sell something akin to a ring that turns your skin green. Happily, suppliers like this one exist.
