The story of this adventure is quite another story. Genocide, starvation of the Indians, betrayal of the Indians, destruction of their world for avarice and greed, all in the name of religion, which in life and practice was an atrocity.
Spencer Tracy has the dubious distinction to have starred in two of the most mendacious, racist films, the other , Northwest Passage, ever filmed.
It's commendable that Marlon Brando gave up his AA for the Godfather in order to protest the treatment of Indians in American films. These two with Tracy see the white man as a victim and the Indians as violent trespassers.
The negatives should be burned.
